LEO E. BELOVITCH (Age 75) Of Springfield, VA, passed away January 24, 2019 at INOVA hospital surrounded by his family.  Leo is survived by his loving wife, Carol Gneiding Belovitch of 30 years, his sister, Jane Kirby and his son, Michael W. Belovitch and daughter-in-Law, Ruby Harrison.  Leo was predeceased by his mother, Wanda (Terepka) Belovitch and his brother, Michael S. Belovitch.  Leo was raised in Fairfield CT and served in the US Navy during the Vietnam era as a Radio Mechanic (E5).  He was proud to be a tin-can sailor assigned to the USS Theodore E. Chandler.  Leo was a recipient of the National Defense Service, Vietnam Service, and Vietnam Campaign Medals.  Following his military service, he earned his Accounting degree from the University of Bridgeport.  He worked at Sikorsky Aircraft and for the IRS for many years where he was recognized for his high standard of excellence.  Most of all, Leo enjoyed his family, his friends of many years, skiing in the White Mountains in New Hampshire, golf, fishing, road trips, and especially his sister’s home cooking.  His life will continue to be celebrated by family and friends.  Leo will be honored with a military funeral in New England at a later date.  Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to INOVA Health Foundation, https://foundation.inova.org, or a charity of personal choice.
