Kevin Eugene Abrams went home to be with the Lord on August 10, 2018. He was born in Beckley, West Virginia on November 10, 1961 to the late Henry Abrams and Jeanetta Hoston Abrams. He was fourth of six children. Kevin graduated from Independence High School in Beckley, West Virginia where he was a member of the All State Football and Basketball Teams. This lead him to be inducted into the Independence High School Basketball Hall of Fame. Upon Completion of High School, he attended Marshall University in West Virginia. The next step of his Journey lead him to Maryland, where he met and married Karen Snead. The happy couple was blessed with a son Brandon. With his love of sports, this he passed on to his son, who followed in his footsteps, and played basketball and football. As a proud father Kevin proclaimed to ANYONE who would listen that Brandon was a “SUPERSTAR” just like his Dad. Kevin loved watching all sports, but his favorite to tune into was football specifically the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed rooting for Dallas Cowboys and would always say “His favorite football teams are the Cowboys and anyone playing the Redskins”. Along with being an avid sports fan he also considered himself a movie critic. Staying current on the most recent movies he could always tell you the best movie out. His favorite movie genre to watch was Westerns. Apart from enjoying sports and movie watching. Another hobby of his was to spend hours in his backyard just watching and feeding the birds. Often researching the different types he didn’t know. More than anything else he loved spending time with his Grandson Zion who loved watching, feeding and chasing those same birds together. Kevin had various jobs on his journey. Kevin’s desire to be a strong positive role model and love for his family lead him to accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Once he accepted Christ, Kevin never looked back. His faith was firm and unshakable, always meeting any challenge with the phrase “I’m going to put it in the Lord’s hands”. Kevin was always willing to give Godly and timely advice to friends or family. He will always be remembered for his caring nature for others, his positive personality, his infectious laugh and his love for his family. His lost will leave a great void among his family, friends and coworkers. Two of Kevin brothers Mark and Steve, preceded him in death. To cherish his memories, his wife Karen Snead-Abrams, loving son and grandson Brandon Edward, Zion Edward; brothers and sister Lawrence (Linda), Panella, Julie, Terry; father-in-law Edward Snead Jr., in-laws , E.C.
