Kevin Lee Baumgartner was born on August 3, 1960 at St. Johns Hospital, St. Paul, Minnesota to Adrian Andrew Baumgartner and Kathleen Joanne Blaisdell Bussard.
In 1981 Kevin joined the US Army. After Basic Training, he went to San Antonio, TX for Pharmacy Specialist and Medical Specialist training. He served at Fort Monmouth, NJ and then at Fort Riley, KS. He received the Army Service Ribbon and Army Achievement Medal. He was Honorably Discharged.
On September 17, 1983 he married Joanne Marie Ouverson at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, Delano, MN. They were blessed with five amazing sons.
Kevin loved his family more than anything in the world. He enjoyed being with them, challenging them, supporting them and was always there for everyone. He loved to travel and was studying French. It felt like he could always fix anything; give him a problem, let him think about it and a solution would always present itself. He had plans to make an elaborate model train setup. He won several chili competitions and had a passion for barbecuing.
He owned a construction company in Minnesota, and most recently worked at National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD as a Door Systems Mechanic.
