Thomas M. Reardon, Sr., of Fairfax went to be with the Lord, Saturday, December 2, 2017, 9:31 a.m. after a six-month illness.
Thomas is survived by his mother Shirley, two brothers Chuck and David, sister Barbara, wife Jenny, and four sons, Thomas, Michael, Joshua, and Caleb.
Thomas grew up in a Christian household and was regenerated in his early twenties after reading the book of Ecclesiastes and contemplating the transience of this earthly life. He touched the church life a few years later in Chicago, IL. During this time, he owned an interior design company in Chicago, landing contracts ranging from floors for the Sears Tower to Oprah Winfrey’s first office.
Afterward, he obtained a Bachelors in Computer Science and began working in the technology sector. In his career as an IT Director and Security Manager, he worked for the National Institute of Health, and for companies ranging from Fortune 500 companies, such as New York Life, to startups such as Appworx. He also holds two masters degrees in Information Assurance and Business Continuity. He ended his career as a Deputy Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) for the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease in the National Institute of Health (NIH/NIAID).
In his free-time, he competed competitively in multiple martial arts and earned a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. He also competed in swimming and was an avid biker. As an adult, learned Mandarin Chinese. He loved and served the Lord Jesus unreservedly in whatever locality he was in and passed on this pattern to his sons. A diligent worker and devoted family man, Thomas will be missed by those who love him.
