Evelyn (Snyder) Winsboro died at her home in Falls Church, Virginia, on May 22, 2018. Her family took solace knowing that she died under Hospice care with peace and dignity in compassionate surroundings. She was everybody’s “Mom,” and her children, Robert, Betsy, Jimmy, son-in-law Irvin, grandchildren, Lorraine, Paul, Anne, and great-grandchildren Eric, Josh, Brian, Nicole, Adam, Drew, and Zoe, and numerous others will long mourn her loss.
Mrs. Winsboro was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Effye (Keysecker) Snyder, her sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Tommy Poland, and her husband of 60 years, Robert B. Winsboro, Sr.
Although born in Keyser, West Virginia on March 20, 1921, Mrs. Winsboro and her family lived most of their adult lives in Falls Church, Virginia. After her husband’s retirement from NASA, the two of them spread their wings and enjoyed world travel.
Mrs. Winsboro was devoted to her family, and greatly appreciated during her twilight years the kind-heartedness of her caregivers, Mariam and Muna. She enjoyed life and sunny days. She will be remembered as a gentle soul who always put the wellbeing of others before her own concerns. Such will be the memory of Mrs. Evelyn Winsboro, a loving person, who brought joy to those around her.
Visitation will be held at Advent Funeral Services on Tuesday May 29 from 4-7 pm, and Wednesday May 30 from 11 am to 12 pm, and where a funeral service will be held at 12 noon. Interment at Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, VA.
Rest in peace for eternity, “everybody’s Mom.” Your warmth, caring, and love for family and friends will leave the world a better place than the one you entered. We miss your twinkling blue eyes and bright smile so much!
