Joseph Conroy Finnigan (Age 88)
On Tuesday, August 14, 2012, beloved husband of 51 years to the late Mary Ward Finnigan.
Devoted father of Paul, Mark, and Robert Finnigan. Joe was born in Belford, NJ. He served in the US Navy from April 1943 to December 1963, retiring at Lt. Commander. Served in assignments such as: The Office of Chief of Naval Operations; COMIDEAST Force Staff; COMNAVAIRLANT staff; commander and executive officer on USS Badger, gunnery officer on USS Oriskany; in fighter pilot training during 1944-45. Attended Princeton University as an undergraduate (1946-48) before being called back to active duty. After retiring from USN, received Bachelor or Arts in Business Administration for George Washington University (1966). Employed as: systems analyst for Tracor Inc.; computer applications engineer for Control Data Corporation; technical engineer for Data Design Laboratories; consultant to World Bank, project scheduling coordinator for Federal Aviation Administration and worked as consultant for FAA at the age of seventy. Joe loved sailing, avidly followed public affairs, and had such a passion for auto safety, he holds a patent for the shoulder harness. Relatives and friends may call on Saturday, August 25th from 6 PM – 8 PM at the funeral home.
